Abstract

The application of local wisdom on customary law to Buyan Malays is full of Islamic education which is generally summarized in aspects of aqeedah, sharia and morals. Moreover, the latest survey from BNPT places local wisdom as a significant antidote to radicalism in Indonesia. Based on the facts above, the study of Customary Law to create social harmony is very urgent, especially for those who are inland on the island of Borneo, such as the Buyan Malay community. There are various types of customary law in Malay Buyan such as traditional customs, wrong base and adultery customs. Peace and harmony in the community are very important. In fact, Customary Law can educate Buyan Malays to maintain ethics and behavior in daily life. This makes the Buyan Malays a close kinship in everyday relationships, so that it is possible to have Islamic education in the local wisdom of Customary Law. Customary law institutions in the community also have implications for harmony and order and peace. The effort to find theories is important to do research on the Application of Customary Law to Create Social Harmony: Perspective of Islamic Education in Buyan Malays.
